Most people would be surprised to know how extensive tourism is for the New
Jersey Wildwoods. Five
Mile Island, the largest of the Cape May County barrier islands, is home to
the city of Wildwood, which is centered between the city of North
Wildwood and the borough of Wildwood
Crest. Morey's
Piers and Raging Waters Park, specialty shops and restaurants provide action
and excitement on the illustrious three-mile Boardwalk. At Garfield Avenue and
Boardwalk sits the 30-foot high Whaling
Wall Mural created by marine artist, Wyland. A few blocks west, Pacific Avenue
hosts the National
Marbles Hall of Fame in the George
Boyer Historical Museum. Visitors come from far away to participate in the
annual National
Marbles Tournament for youth and the International
Kite Festival. Also, guests can take in fishing trips, whale watching tours
and boat cruises and enjoy breakfast on board and scenic views of the sea and
the surrounding areas.
